Hybrid Caravans

Hybrid caravans are many things to many people. As the name implies, they’re a hybrid, being part caravan, part pop-top and part camper trailer. The precise mix of each varies greatly depening on the focus of the particular van. In some cases, they’re just small off-road capable caravans. Regardless of what amalgam of vehicles make up a hybrid, the general idea is that they are smaller, tougher and more off-road capable than your regular caravan. Below you’ll find our listings for hybrid caravans

Hybrid caravans tend to be lighter and smaller than regular caravans. That means they can go places a normal caravan cannot. With better maneuverability than a traditional caravan, you can take them into spots where other caravans cannot go. When you’re searching for a hybrid caravan, look for one that will satisfy your camping needs. If you’re going off grid, ensure you have the solar, water and batteries you need to enjoy your time out there. Also make sure you get proetection and suspension you need to take your caravan where you intend to go.

Check the configurations of the van to ensure it fits your lifestyle. As we said earlier, hybrids are an amalgam of caravans, top tops and campervans (and expanders too, if we’re being honest). Most hydrids will exand in some way, either with a pop-top-style roof or an expander-style push-out, so keep in mind that 13ft hydrid can be a 15ft when set-up for camping.

With this in mind, remember that a hybrid caravan does often require a bit more effort in the set-up and backdown phase of camping than a normal caravan. If you’re coming from a camper trailer over to a hybrid, this won’t bother you. But if you’ve been used to a regular caravan and you’re downsizing to a hybrid so you can go more places, then you’ll need to keep it in mind.

Finding The Perfect Hydrid Caravan

At Caravan Sales we have a saying, which is “selling made simple”. We try to avoid providing too many options, just the ones that matter. With that in mind, let’s look at some of the options you can use to find your perfect hybrid caravan.

To start your search, we suggest you decide how far you want to travel to view and buy a caravan. Then enter that into the proximity search above. to do this, click on Location in the filter section. You can click on the icon of the person and the website will find your location. Or you can enter your location manually. Once you’ve done that, a proximity bar will appear below it. It starts at 50kms. You can widen your search to include the whole of Australia if you want to. We advise that you decide how far you want to go to get your off-road hybrid caravan and then set that distance accordingly. Remember that is it showing distances as the crow flies.

You should also know how big a caravan you want. How many people do you need to sleep? Set that filter and you should be getting a nice shortlist of caravans by now.

You can of course use any of the other filters available on the page above. For instance, all our listings are sorted into Dealers and Private Sellers so you can choose which type of seller you want to deal with.

Once you find the caravan that suits your needs, contact the owner directly by clicking on the contact tab and sending them your inquiry.
