The biggest Caravan and Camping Sale motors into the Brisbane Showgrounds in time for Christmas holiday planning

Caravanning Queensland’s 2023 Let’s Go Brisbane Caravan and Outdoor Sale will be at the Brisbane Showgrounds from Thursday, October 26 to Sunday, October 29, showcasing the very best deals in recreational vehicles, accessories, and modifications on offer, a sale not to be missed.

New data released earlier this year revealed at least one-third of Australians have been priced out of overseas travel due to the deepening cost of living crisis¹.

The rising cost of living has caused 65 per cent Aussies to cancel or postpone their holiday trips² with two thirds of Australians believing that travel and holidays have become too costly³.

This Christmas, many Australians are opting for a cost-effective holiday solution by hitting the road and setting up camp in Caravan Parks and National Parks at some of Queensland’s most beautiful and iconic locations, embracing a more affordable and adventurous travel experience.

The significance of holidays for mental and physical wellbeing

¹Holidays are highly important to allow the body to physically recover and repair, support brain development, blood pressure, symptoms of depression and improve emotional wellbeing. In fact, research shows 95 per cent of campers believe camping is an effective way to reduce stress². A shared holiday with the family can improve family relationships, allows for opportunities to talk, make memories and gives everyone in the family a chance to step away from the day-to-day pressures³.

‘Van-life’ enthusiast and CEO of Caravan Trade and Industries Association of Queensland, Jason Plant said there are so many great outdoor getaways at Queensland Parks still available over the Christmas period that won’t break the bank.

“Caravanning and outdoor adventuring has always been a great investment for families looking to create memories that last a lifetime, compared to blowing the budget on one overseas holiday,” says Mr Plant.

“If a holiday with creature comforts such as hot showers, electricity and cooking facilities is more up your alley, you will find great Queensland Caravan Parks that offer ranges of activities such as go-karting, wine tasting, outdoor cinema nights and water parks.

“Or if you have a specific green holiday in mind, the Queensland National Parks booking website has sites listed under your interests and needs.

“With a huge range of affordable options it’s not surprising that Australians continue to invest in RVs, as caravanning and camping remains one of the most economical and feasible holiday options,” concluded Mr Plant.

Safety programs to save lives

With a combination of increased RV production which resulted in an average of 2,333 new RVs hitting the road each month, Caravanning Queensland has partnered with the Queensland Government for a state-wide Caravan Safety Check Program VANSafe.

The FREE Program was established in response to the rapid rise in recreational vehicle ownership over the past few years and is designed to educate and support vehicle owners with the information they need to tow confidently, safely and compliantly.

Since the launch earlier this year, VANSafe has been implemented in 10 different locations. The program has proved highly successful with every inspection booked out and nearly 600 attendees so far.

For those attending the Sale, owners can attend free Weight and Towing Masterclass being held twice daily giving drivers the chance to learn vital safety information on weight distribution, correct loading, plus towing tips and tricks.

Prior to the Sale owners of caravans, campers and motorhomes have the opportunity to register for a FREE RV combination inspection and weigh in. This is an educational service designed to improve safety and compliance in a designated safe zone, where no penalties will be imposed on October 21 and 22 with bookings opening mid-September.

This year includes a special kid’s zone with arts, crafts and activities for the little ones to enjoy. Additionally, on Saturday and Sunday there will also be a special guest appearance from none other than children’s television superstar, Bluey. See Bluey and Bingo live on stage at the “Bluey Live Interactive Experience”, plus meet and greets.
