Standard with a Projecta, the Off-Grid X package comprises a 400Ah lithium battery with 180A AC charging capability and 40A DC to DC charging, a 3000W inverter, and 600W of solar panels (three 200W panels) on the roof.

There’s also a power input for additional solar panels or blankets, for times when the van itself may be situated in shade.
“With that 3000W inverter, when you turn that on you can use all the powerpoints in the caravan,” she said. “You can run the hair dryer, you can run the hair straightener, the coffee machine – not all at once, but you can run them.
“And, in the right conditions, this (set-up) will run your air-conditioner for a short period of time. So, if you’re out in the bush and it’s really hot during the day and you need to cool the van down at night to get to sleep, you can do that.”
