Newcastle Caravan Camping Lifestyle Expo 2026
As Australians head into 2026 looking for freedom, space and meaningful travel, caravan and camping continues to deliver a fantastic holiday with new data showing New South Wales leads the nation in caravan and camping trips, visitor nights and total expenditure.
Confirming NSW’s position as Australia’s leading destination for caravan and camping holidays, the latest Domestic Tourism Statistics released by Tourism Research Australia shows the state recorded more than 1.27 million caravan and camping trips and over 4 million visitor nights in the September quarter, driving more than $808 million in visitor expenditure.
Caravan & Camping Industry Association NSW CEO Wayne Lange said the results highlight the sector’s vital contribution to regional tourism and local economies across the state and reflect a clear shift in how Australians are choosing to travel.
“As we move into 2026, people are looking to slow down, escape the crowds and reconnect with nature, and caravan and camping offers the freedom, tranquility and sense of connection that travellers are seeking,” Mr Lange said.
“Aussie travellers are hitting the road in growing numbers, choosing the amazing array of holiday parks across NSW and designing experiences built around wellbeing, outdoor adventure and places where they can truly unwind.”
From Friday 30 January to Sunday 1 February 2026, the Newcastle Entertainment Centre & Showground will host the annual Newcastle Caravan Lifestyle Expo, bringing that travel inspiration to life.
The Expo will feature more than 150 exhibitors, showcasing caravans, camper trailers, motorhomes, outdoor gear, holiday parks and touring experiences all in one place. Visitors can also enjoy a range of family-friendly entertainment throughout the weekend, including:
- Inflatable jumping castle for the kids from 10am to 3pm each day
- Hourly reptile and snake show from 10am to 3pm, including safety and first-aid advice
- Face painting and balloon artists
- A wide range of food and beverage outlets onsite
- Easy public transport access
- Dog-friendly
Importantly for all visitors, ticket prices remain unchanged for 2026.
